Steamed Malay Koh(Malay kueh)- by Lucy Ong
Recipe as follows:-
(A) ingredients: Sift all together twice.
Use 240gms pao flour/low protein flour.
2 teaspoons double action baking powder.
1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda.
60gms custard powder.
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence.
1 teaspoon dark soya sauce(optional)
6 ‘A’ grade Eggs.
360gms or lesser a bit of brown sugar(if you like less sweet) 160gms melted margarine.
Beat eggs and brown sugar gradually till thicken.
Pour in (A) and mix well.
Add vanilla essence and leave to proof for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Mix in the melted margarine and stir well before pouring into a lined baking paper round tin and greased by its side.
Steam for 30 minutes under high heat.
